Description
I am offering for sale a brass figure of the Lion's Mound Statue located at the Waterloo Battlefield in Brussels, Belgium. It was erected by King William I of the Netherlands in 1820 and commemorates the location where a musket ball hit the shoulder of William II. It also commemorates the Battle of Quatre Bras in 1815. The name Waterloo and June 1815 appear on the front and back of the base of the figure indicating that it was a souvenir from the battlefield. It is in very good condition with age appropriate wear and patina. It measures 2 3/4" high x 3 1/4" wide x 1 3/4" deep.
